ETHAFOAM products are resilient in nature, giving them outstanding recovery characteristics that provide outstanding cushioning protection against repeated impacts. And ETHAFOAM products are available in a variety of strengths, making them suitable for protecting products ranging from just a few pounds up to hundreds of pounds in weight.
Crosslinked polyethylene is made from high density polyethylene and contains cross-linked bonds in the polymer structure, changing the thermoplastic into an elastomer. Cross-linking is accomplished during or after the extrusion of the tubing.

Anti static Polyethylene
Antistatic Polyethylene
Closed cell foam for static discharge protection available in rolls or planks. Standard color is pink. Anti static foam provides anti static properties important to sensitive electronic parts and products. Anti static foam provides controlled, dissipation of electro-static charges emitted from other neighboring materials and personnel during handling, assembly, and shipment of the product. It’s a strong, closed-cell foam. It contains internal anti-static agents designed to eliminate static-potential from the foam itself, and to dissipate electro-static discharges from other sources.
TRYMER®
TRYMER®
Rigid Polyurethane foam for insulation. Also used as a fibrous glass support material. 1.6, 1.8, 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0 pcf densities. Trymer® polyisocyanurate foam is a closed-cell, high-performance insulation for pipe, vessel, equipment, and duct applications. Trymer offers products in a selection of densities and compressive strengths. Trymer’s properties feature one of the lowest ambient k-factors among all foam insulations (0.19 BTU in/hr ft2 °F at 75°F mean temperature (0.027 W/m °C at 24°C)), and can be used over a broad temperature range from -297°F to 300°F (-183°C to 148°C). This foam is a polyisocyanurate, so it may also be referred to as Rigid Urethane “ISO.” This name Trymer was formerly a registered trademark of Dow Chemical, but now it is a registered trademark of ITW.
ENSOLITE®
3.5 to 9.0 pounds per cubic ft. closed cell PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) foam. Temperature range -20°F to 250°F. Applications in industrial gasketing, flotation insulation and athletic padding. Ensolite was a trademarked name for a closed cell foam material made from a blend of Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) and Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR). It used to be made by RBX Industries, Inc. and was available in a broad range of compressions densities. Ensolite was typically used for shock absorption, athletic protective equipment, insulation for both high and low temperature, and floatation. It has also been used in industrial applications such as automotive gasketing and weather stripping. Ensolite®, Rubatex®, and Durafoam® all refer to the same type of foam produced by different manufacturers with slightly different properties. Armacell and Monmouth

Polyethylene Rolls
A low cost, low density Polyethylene available in roll form in thicknesses from 1/32" to 1/2". Used in packaging for wrapping, interleaving, or flotation devices. Also available in antistatic. Densities from 0.9 to 4.0 pcf. Polyethylene Foam is dust-free and non-abrasive in addition to being moisture proof and shock resistant.
Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPS)
Expanded Polystyrene Foam (EPS)
A molded polystyrene foam used in packaging applications and also insulation applications, usually available in densities of 1, 1.5, and 2 pounds per cubic ft. Some applications can be blocking and bracing for furniture and appliances. EPS is commonly used to package and protect water heaters, dishwashers, and large appliances. It also provides impact protection for sensitive electronic equipment. It is good for applications that require protection from shock and vibration. It has a very high compressive strength, and is very compatible with corrugated cardboard and flexible foams. This is a very lightweight product.
Custom Extruded PE Shapes
Extruded PE foam is available in a wide variety of tubes, shapes, colors, and sizes in any density of Polyethylene for corner and edge protection, flotation, and cushioning. Typical applications for corner or edge protection would be for packaging doors, windows, mirrors, and pictures. Most extrusion shapes typically fit a “U” or “L” shape pattern.
Expanded PP/PE
Polyethylene or Polypropylene with very high compressive strength. Resilient molded foam for cushion packaging, automotive, and other applications. Chemically stable, high thermal resistance, and available in a variety of densities. Expanded polyethylene (EPE) is an impact absorbing foam that passes both air and water for improved breathability. A typical application for this might be flooring. Expanded polypropylene (EPP) has excellent energy absorption and high strength properties. It is durable, lightweight, and recyclable. It is resistant to water, chemicals, and most oils. EPP can withstand multiple impacts without significant damage. Markets for EPP would be automotive, packaging, sports and leisure, HVAC, consumer products, and furniture.
Filter Foam (Reticulated Foam)
An open pore Polyurethane foam available in pore sizes from 5 ppi (pores per inch) to 100 ppi, used as air filters in air conditioners and I.C. engines, or ceramic filters. Filter foam can also be dipped or coated to perform other functions. Reticulation is process by which the cell walls of the foam are removed leaving a skeletal structure behind. Filter or reticulated foam works as a depth-loading filter instead of a surface-loading filter. So when this foam is used for filtering purposes it is able to “catch” dust particles within its cell structure. Since the process of reticulation only leaves the skeletal structure, this foam has a much higher degree of surface area for the collection of dust particles. Filter foam has a uniform cell structure, which allows for it to be engineered for pressure drop and filtering efficiency by changing its pore size. This foam has many uses. Some of them would be scrubbing pads, hospital pads, outdoor furniture, gutter protection, applicators, and more.
Flexible Foam Polyester Urethane
1.5 - 6.0 pounds per cubic ft. Polyurethane foam, used in display packaging, cushion packaging, acoustic applications, case inserts, medical applications, and gasketing applications, available in several different colors. Polyester polyurethane is available in anti-static and flame retardant grades, and can be formulated to meet the MIL-PRF-26514, Cal-117, MVSS302, UL-94, and the FAR 25.853(a) specifications. This is very flexible foam that is extremely easy to fabricate. Available in rolls, sheets, buns, and fabricated parts. The differences between ether and ester urethane are quite subtle especially to the naked eye. Ester is more expensive and is a higher quality than ether. It also will retain its color longer than an ether or remain more colorfast.
Flexible Foam Polyether Urethane
Polyether urethane is a lower density flexible urethane foam used in industrial packaging applications where higher loads are involved. This is a low cost, high resilient open cell flexible foam that is also available in antistatic form. Ether is available in densities from 0.9 to 5.5 pcf., however, it usually in a range of 1.2 to 1.5 pcf. Ether urethane can be formulated to meet the MIL-PRF-26514, Cal-117, MVSS302, UL-94, and the FAR 25.853(a) specifications. Many of the uses of ether urethane are the same as ester urethane listed above. Polyether urethane can be used in a wide variety of applications, but some of them are protective packaging, automotive, sports, leisure, aerospace, marine, construction, military, case inserts, medical, appliance, filters, gaskets, display, etc.
Foam Rubber Blends and Neoprene
3.5 to 9 pounds per cubic ft. closed cell foam. Temperature range -20°F to 250°F. Foam rubber blends have applications in industrial gasketing, flotation, insulation, and athletic padding. It is available in a broad range of compressions densities. It is typically used for shock absorption, athletic protective equipment, insulation for both high and low temperature, and floatation. It has also been used in industrial applications such as automotive gasketing and weather stripping.
MICROCELL®
Chemically crosslinked Polyolefin closed-cell foam available in 3” and 4” bun form with an extremely fine cell structure. MicroCellâ can be easily skived to thinner thicknesses. Higher density grades are also available. This has taken the place of Voltek’s Minicel product since it is no longer available in the U.S. Available colors are natural, white, gray, charcoal, blue, black, yellow, and green. It is also available in a fire retardant grade. The fire retardant qualities meet the requirements for both Vehicle Safety Standard FMVSS-302 and Aviation F.A.R. 25.853 (A) vertical burn test. Some common applications would be closure strips, eaves filler, sports padding, camping mats, sports flooring and wall padding, exercise mats, kayak seats, canoe seats, and kickboards.
Multiple Density Laminates (MDL)
Polyethylene hybrid foam used for cushion packaging, especially when a living hinge is used in endcaps. MDL is a multiple density laminate, which typically consists of an extruded polyethylene skin laminated to polyethylene plank. This enables the fabrication of three-dimensional designs with a single cut. The "hinge" properties of the skin enables die-cuts with flip outs to be shipped flat reducing freight cost and packaging storage costs. MDL strengthens expandable grid designs, which provide improved material yield.
Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA)
Pressure Sensitive Adhesive (PSA)
An adhesive system, which can be applied to the foam to adhere the foam part to another substrate by removing the paper backing. PSA is an adhesive which forms a bond when pressure is applied to marry the adhesive with the product(s) you are attempting to bring together. No solvent, water, or heat is needed to activate the adhesive. As the name "pressure sensitive" indicates, the degree of bond is influenced by the amount of pressure which is used to apply the adhesive to the surface. Surface factors such as smoothness, surface energy, removal of contaminants, etc. are also important to proper bonding. PSA’s are usually designed to form a bond and hold properly at room temperatures. PSA’s typically reduce or lose their tack at cold temperatures and reduce their shear holding ability at high temperatures; specialty adhesives are made to function at high or low temperatures. It is important to choose an adhesive formulation which is designed for its intended use conditions. Since the adhesion or “tackiness” can be changed, we can work with you to help you determine how “tacky” the PSA needs to be for your application.
Rigid Urethane High Density
6.0 to 20.0 pounds per cubic ft. Urethane used for architectural models and specialty high strength areas. Rigid urethane foam can be used in structural applications at a lower weight than metal or wood. It can be molded to simulate wood, concrete, clay and/or various other materials. It is a unique combination of lightweight and strength that offers engineers the freedom to design complex shapes that cannot always be achieved with other materials. One can also nail, screw, glue, bolt and staple directly into Rigid Urethane Foam. It is completely waterproof and impervious to solvents, which makes it work well indoors or outdoors. High or low environmental temperatures, rain, snow, ice, or frequent sprinkler waterings have no affect on this material. STYROFOAM® BB
STYROFOAM® BB
1.8 pounds per cubic ft. extruded Polystyrene foam buoyancy billets for marine floating structures. Standard color is blue. Styrofoam BB brand plastic foam buoyancy billets are one of the best materials to use for floating structures. This extremely buoyant yet durable material is composed of millions of tiny non-interconnecting air cells, each serving as an independent buoyancy chamber. These buoyancy billets won't lose their buoyancy, even if punctured. The lightweight of Styrofoam brand plastic foam reduces the racking on the wooden framework of a floating structure, and helps minimize damage from storms. They do not water log or corrode. They resist the attack of destructive marine growths and are unaffected by salt or fresh water.

Styrofoam Decorative Billets are 1.8 pounds per cubic ft. extruded Polystyrene foam for use in floral, novelty, and display applications. Standard color is white and green. Crafters and florists can choose from more than 50 different shapes and sizes of Styrofoam™ brand foam, including balls, sheets, cubes, cones, eggs, hearts, blocks, rings, shamrocks, pumpkins, and many others. In addition, it's easy to cut Styrofoam™ brand foam into almost any size and shape using a hacksaw, serrated knife or hot wire cutter. Styrofoam™ brand foam is a versatile, easy-to-use product that readily adapts to many craft projects and flower arrangements. It's fun, creative, and safe to use for any age - kindergartners to seniors. Styrofoam High-Load is extruded Polystyrene foam used as insulation where high load bearing is required. Styrofoam HL is a durable closed-cell foam. Styrofoam™ Brand High-Load 100 insulation has a minimum compressive strength of 100 psi (690 kPa). It is also available in 40 psi and 60 psi. The Type V extruded polystyrene foam insulation resists compressive creep and fatigue, delivering long-term compressive strength and thermal performance in high-load applications. Panel Core is an extruded polystyrene foam core material and thermal insulation supplied in precisely trimmed and planed sheets for composite panel manufacturing.1.9 pounds per cubic ft. extruded polystyrene foam for insulation in mobile homes, modular housing, cold storage, industrial lagging, perimeter insulation, plaster and drywall insulation base, and cavity wall insulation. This material can meet demanding composite panel applications and provides a superior bonding surface. STYROFOAM® SE & TG
STYROFOAM® SE & TG
Styrofoam Square Edge (SE) (aka Styrofoam SB or SM) and Styrofoam Tongue & Groove (Styrofoam TG) have a compressive strength of 25 psi (lb./in.²) min.³. They are extruded polystyrene foam smooth skin boards for use as insulation material and in residential construction as sheathing material. Also used as core material in panels. Styrofoam™ Brand Square Edge Insulation Extruded Polystyrene is a Type IV product with square edges on four sides to help ensure energy efficiency and minimize on-site cutting and waste. It offers superior water resistance, long-term thermal performance and high compressive strength in a wide range of residential and commercial construction applications. Styrofoam™ Brand Tongue and Groove Insulation features tongue and groove edges on all four sides of 2' x 8' boards 1" thick or less and on the long edges of all other boards. The lightweight, moisture-resistant and thermally efficient Type IV extruded polystyrene foam insulation is suited for a wide range of residential and commercial construction applications. VOLARA®
Volara is a fine-celled, irradiation crosslinked foam that offers aesthetic appeal as well as an outstanding range of performance characteristics. Its smooth surface, excellent consistency, gauge control, superior physical and chemical properties, low water absorption and vapor transmission make Volara a versatile, dependable solution for a host of demanding applications. Some applications of Volara® would be door panels, instrument panels, gaskets, operating room and health care devices, specialized packaging, appliance gaskets, construction, military, sports padding, toys, and novelties. It is available in a density range from 2 to 20 pcf. Standard colors are white, black, ocean blue, charcoal, and natural; custom colors are available.
VOLEXTRA®
Volextra is extrusion-coated Volara that combines the properties of foam and solid plastic. Extrusion coating adds a wide range of aesthetic and performance qualities to the superior properties of Volara’s crosslinked, closed-cell polyolefin foam. In the Volextra manufacturing process, thickness, color, and texture are tightly controlled to adapt its properties to your specific needs. Available with a wide range of surfaces, Volextra provides a decorative advantage and allows for the design of composite materials with high-performance characteristics. Volextra is abrasion, chemical, and moisture resistant. It is highly durable and ideal for demanding applications. Volextra could be used for moisture resistant panels, headliners, marine accessories, anti-skid pads, appliance gaskets, body boards, and specialized protective packaging.

Plastic Corrugated

Useful for totes, dunnage, and applications which require high strength corrugated. This is a durable, versatile, and reusable product. Several different types of foam can be bonded to the plastic corrugated to be used in many situations. Plastic corrugated can be used for shipping and handling containers. Plastic corrugated is available in several different mil thicknesses. Standard color is black; other colors are available for special orders.
Wooden Pallets
Cushioning layered into wood pallets or foam applied to wood sheets used for shipment of heavy electronic items.
